With high end stores such as Burberry and Neiman Marcus and fast fashion powerhouses H&M and Forever 21, Chicago’s Magnificent Mile is an amazing place to shop. The eight block shopping strip on North Michigan Avenue features jewelry stores Tiffany & Co. and Swarvoski, beauty powerhouses Sephora and Ulta, fabulous places to eat such as Michael Jordan’s Steakhouse, along with endless fashion retailers like Uniqlo, TopShop, Zara, Under Armour, Coach and Timberland.
The Shops at North Bridge alone are a great shopping destination in their own right! The shopping center features Nordstrom, HUGO BOSS, charming charlie and one of my favorite stores, Eloquii.
Bargain hunters won’t be disappointed with TJ Maxx, Marshalls and Neiman Marcus Last Call Studio. I’m just sad that I didn’t have a chance to visit these stores.
As if the shopping wasn’t enough, the Magnificent Mile is located near several of Chicago’s architectural attractions. During my Uber ride to the Magnificent Mile, I was immediately impressed by the unique and breathtaking buildings in the area. I walked to the Dusable Bridge and Chicago Riverwalk where tourists can take a boat tour of Chicago’s architectural highlights. Notable nearby buildings include the Wrigley Building, John Hancock Center and Tribune Tower which is home to the Chicago Tribune.
If educational adventures are your thing, you’ll appreciate the history behind the Dusable Bridge and other historical sites. I learned about the first citizen of Chicago, Haitian born John Baptist Point du Sable, and saw the Benito Juarez statue in the Plaza of the Americas.
I enjoyed my self-guided tour of the Magnificent Mile, and look forward to spending more time there in the future. In my opinion, it is an amazing shopping destination!
